A comment made by a cinematographer on the set of Perfect in 1985 prompted a 25-year-old Jamie Lee Curtis to get plastic surgery that she regrets to this day.

The beloved actress opened up about what led her to get her first cosmetic procedure on the May 11 episode of 60 Minutes, zooming in on the cinematographer's harsh words.

"He was like, ‘Yeah, I'm not shooting her today. Her eyes are baggy.' And I was 25, so for him to say that, it was very embarrassing. So as soon as the movie finished, I ended up having some plastic surgery. That's just not what you want to do when you're 25 or 26. And I regretted it immediately and have kind of sort of regretted it since."

Curtis also revealed that she celebrates beauty in its natural form and believes that women are "perfect the way you are."

"I've become a public advocate to say to women you're gorgeous and you're perfect the way you are. So yeah, it was not a good thing for me to do."

In a 2021 interview with Fast Company, the 66-year-old Freaky Friday star explained she's not a fan of fillers that wipe out "generations of beauty."

"The current trend of fillers and procedures, and this obsession with filtering, and the things that we do to adjust our appearance on Zoom are wiping out generations of beauty. Once you mess with your face, you can't get it back."
