WATCH: The Trailer for Hatching Is Absolutely Insane & I'm Here For It

You know I love horror movies are my absolute favorite genre of film. There's not many horror movies I don't like and I'd like to think I give most of them a try. Well, the trailer for Hatching just dropped and it is absolutely balls to the wall insane and I'm totally here for it. I mean, just take a look at the freakin poster.

The synopsis for IFC Midnight's Hatching is:

“In Hatching, 12-year-old gymnast, Tinja is desperate to please her image-obsessed mother, whose popular blog ‘Lovely Everyday Life’ presents their family’s idyllic existence as manicured suburban perfection. One day, after finding a wounded bird in the woods, Tinja brings its strange egg home, nestles it in her bed, and nurtures it until it hatches. The creature that emerges becomes her best friend and living nightmare, plunging Tinja beneath the impeccable veneer into a twisted reality her mother refuses to see.”

Just the plot itself is absolutely bonkers! Admittedly, on the surface, the synopsis sounds cheesy, but when you watch the trailer you'll see how well done - and terrifyingly creepy - it is. So much so that I can't wait for this to come.

Hanna Bergholm directs, while Ilja Rautsi wrote the screenplay, and Siiri Solalinna, Sophia Heikkila, Jani Volanen, Oiva Ollila, and Reino Nordin star.

Hatching releases in theaters and on VOD on April 29, 2022.
