Dozens of flowers, cards, and more have been placed on the steps leading to the department that Officer Andrew Duarte called home. Duarte was relatively new to the community, only joining the force in 2022 after five years in Denver. In 2021, he received the "hero award" from Mothers Against Drunk Driving for his efforts in curbing drunk driving in the Denver community.
