(Lancaster, PA) -- You just might be noticing fewer mosquitoes in the area if you live in Lancaster County. The county's Facilities Management Mosquito-Borne Disease Program has begun spraying many recreational and residential areas as of late last week. The product used is called Aquadet and it's designed to provide quick knockdown and effective control of adult mosquitos. Officials say the spraying has been needed due to the high rate of mosquitos that might carry the West Nile Virus.
