Supreme Deli LLC has voluntarily recalled Boar's Head Pecorino Romano cheese due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall, initiated by Ambriola Company, affects specific batches of the cheese sold in Kroger stores across Kentucky and Indiana. The affected products include Boar’s Head Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese in six-ounce containers, with sell-by dates ranging from November 21, 2025, to March 12, 2026.

Listeria is a harmful bacterium that can cause severe illness, particularly in vulnerable groups such as the elderly, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of listeriosis include fever, muscle aches, and gastrointestinal distress.

No illnesses have been reported related to this recall. However, consumers are advised to discard any affected products or return them to the place of purchase. For further information, customers can contact Ambriola Company at info@ambriola.com or Boar’s Head at 1-800-352-6277.

Boar’s Head has also withdrawn other Ambriola-supplied products as a precaution, although these are not part of the recall. The company emphasized that the recall is an isolated incident and does not affect other Boar's Head products. According to the FDA, the products were packaged in clear plastic containers and sold in Kroger stores. Newsweek reported that Boar’s Head has taken immediate action to ensure the affected products are removed from distribution nationally. USA TODAY noted that the recall follows a previous listeria outbreak in 2024 linked to Boar’s Head deli meats.
