Today, York County solemnly honors the lives of three Northern York County Regional Police officers—Detective Sergeant Cody Becker, Detective Mark Baker, and Detective Isaiah Emenheiser—who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty.
As the community comes together to pay tribute, several key roads in and around Red Lion will be temporarily closed to accommodate the funeral procession and ensure a safe and respectful passage. These closures will begin early this morning and continue through the afternoon, affecting both local and regional traffic.
Residents and travelers are urged to plan ahead, expect delays, and consider alternate routes as we stand united in support of the families, colleagues, and loved ones of these brave officers.
Update on tomorrows road closures;
Starting at 6am until 4pm: No Parking on West Broadway from the square to Neff Street.
No Parking on North Main Street from the Square to E Prospect Street.
Starting at 8am: West Broadway will be CLOSED from the square to North Franklin Street across from the Turkey Hill. This will be heavily enforced by State Police and Fire Police. No exceptions.
Authorities have been in contact with Red Lion Area School District to make accommodations for Elementary students that have bus stops in this area. Those families are being notified by the school district.
Starting at 930am: North Main Street will be CLOSED from the square following the Funeral Procession Route. The Route is from Wagner-Elfner Burg Funeral Home to Living Word Church.
This includes State Route 24 and Cape Horn Road. Cape Horn Road will be closed at Windsor Road on the North Side. Again, this road closure will be heavily enforced by State Police and Fire Police.
The Roadways will reopen once the procession has passed and reached Living Word Church.
Starting at 130pm(or so): Cape Horn Road will be CLOSED at Windsor Road to prepare for the procession to return back from Living Word to the Funeral Home. The procession route is the same, just in reverse order.
The service, though not open to the general public, will also be livestreamed once it begins.
The NYCRPD has endorsed the Honor Their Service portal for donations to support the families.
A Statement From Northern York County Regional Police Department:
The Northern York County Regional Police Department, in partnership with the York County Safety Collab, is endorsing the Honor Their Service donation portal as the official platform to support the families of our three fallen officers, our injured officer, and the York County Sheriff’s Deputy affected by this tragedy.
We have been deeply moved by the outpouring of support from our community and across the Commonwealth. Many have asked how they can help. This portal has been vetted and endorsed by both the NYCRPD and the York County Sheriff’s Office to provide the community with a secure and transparent way to give. We strongly encourage anyone wishing to donate to use this official channel to ensure their generosity reaches the families who need it most. 100% of the proceeds donated will benefit the families and officers affected by this tragedy.
