On Wednesday (September 17), a tragic shooting in North Codorus Township, Pennsylvania, resulted in the deaths of three police officers and left two others critically wounded. The officers, from the Northern York County Regional Police and the York County Sheriff's Office, were ambushed while attempting to serve a warrant on Haar Road, York County.

Detective Sergeant Cody Becker, Officer Mark Baker and Officer Isaiah Emenheiser were the three officers tragically killed in the line of duty during the York County shooting on September 17, 2025. They served with the Northern York County Regional Police Department and they are widely recognized for their heroism and dedication to the community.

Detective Sergeant Cody Becker

He is being remembered for:

Heroic Rescue: In 2011, Becker risked his life to save a mother and her three children from a burning apartment. He and another officer were later honored by the FBI for their bravery.
DUI Enforcement: He received the "DUI Top Gun Award" in 2013 for his outstanding efforts in removing impaired drivers from the roads.
Community Support: In 2020, his department highlighted his work collecting blankets for those in need, showcasing his compassion beyond the badge.

Detective Sergeant Becker is being remembered as a true public servant whose legacy of courage and kindness continues to inspire.

Officer Mark Baker

He is remembered as:

A devoted father of four, deeply loved by his children and family.
Community Role Model: Baker was known for his work with youth in York County, dedicating time to inspire and protect children in the community.
Beloved by Family: His sister-in-law expressed the heartbreak of losing him, saying, “We always thought dad was gonna come home,” underscoring the shock and grief felt by those closest to him

Officer Isaiah Emenheiser

He is being remembered for:

Dedication to Duty: Officer Emenheiser served his community with honor and integrity, committed to protecting others even in the face of danger.
Named Officer of the Year in 2011 by his department.
Honored with the DUI Top Gun Award four years in a row, starting in 2010, for ranking second in the state for DUI arrests out of 27,000 officers.
Community Praise: Described by many as “an amazing man and a great father,” Emenheiser was admired both within the force and by the community he served
