If you drive 283 then you've probably noticed part of a bridge missing around the Mount Joy area. The Strickler Road Bridge was struck by a tractor trailer last October and has been out of commission. PennDOT is going to be working on that part of the bridge Aug 9-12. That means that part of the highway will be closed. You’ll have to get off at the Mount Joy exit, go through Mount Joy borough, and then get back on 283 at Rheems.
PennDOT says they'll have that section of the highway closed so they can set set beams on there.
