DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — UPDATE | Three people are now dead following a bus crash on I-81, according to PSP Tpr. Megan Frazer.
Frazer also states that I-81 is now currently open to the public

Three people have been confirmed deceased.
We do not have an accurate number for injuries right now. All injuries very from minor to critical.

The Investigating Trooper will submit a news release and send it to me later today and I will send it out immediately once I get it. I will not have any more information until then.
Location: Interstate 81 southbound at mile marker 74, Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County PA
On August 6, 2023 at 11:49PM, a crash occurred between a passenger vehicle and charter bus carrying 45-50 passengers. The bus flipped on its side and came to final rest on the right berm.
Multiple passengers on the bus are deceased.
Multiple people have been transported to Hershey Medical center for varying injuries.
Identification of the deceased are currently being withheld until the next of kin are notified. 81 southbound is currently shut down between exits 77 and 72.
Chambers Hill Fire Department is opening up for reunification of the passengers. The Red Cross will be at that location as well.
