Normally the IRS starts accepting tax returns beginning in late January, but this year they have delayed the start of the tax filing season until February 12th.
They say it’s because they have to reprogram computers based on the COVID Relief Act. This also means there will be a longer wait for anyone who still hasn’t gotten their stimulus check and were told to file for the Recovery Rebate Credit on their tax return.
