Governor Wolf has said around 33,000 childcare employees across Pennsylvania will receive a one-time $600 grant. The grants replace the Education and Retention Award this fiscal year which has reached around 9,000 employees. Grants will be issued on a first come first served basis, and the deadline to apply is February 12th.
Governor Wolf said this:
“For nearly a year, child care professionals have continued to work through a challenging environment, providing a safe and caring setting for our youngest Pennsylvanians as their parents go to work performing essential work through a tumultuous period,” said Wolf. “We are incredibly grateful for their commitment.”
Funds are coming from the Child Care Development Fund & the CARES Act. Eligible employee must make $70,000 or less and work at least 20 hours per week.
