'Making A Murderer' Defendant’s Case to be Decided by a Federal Court

Brendan Dassey was sentenced along with his uncle Steven Avery, for a 2005 killing on Netflix's 'Making A Murderer.'

Both sides in the case presented brief arguments in front of the panel of judges at the Seventh Circuit Court the other day. Brendan Dassey's conviction was overturned back in August by a federal magistrate, who ruled authorities coerced a confession out of him.

He has remained in prison while the state appealed the ruling, and it looks like he’ll be sitting in jail until at least June because that’s when a federal appeals court in Chicago will be ruling on the case.
