(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Health is discovering a huge mistake in the state's Moderna vaccine distribution that could affect tens of thousands of residents. Secretary of Health Alison Beam announced yesterday that several providers accidentally gave out second doses of the Moderna vaccine as first doses. Beam says 30-to-60-thousand second-dose appointments will have to be postponed as well as the delivery of 30-to-55-thousand doses. The Pfizer vaccine isn't being affected by the mistake.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Keystone State is reaching a milestone it never wanted to during the COVID-19 pandemic. The state's Department of Health reported about 3,400 new positive cases yesterday. Pennsylvania has now surpassed 900-thousand total confirmed positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic. Almost 200 more people also passed away due to complications of the coronavirus.

(York, PA) -- If passed, a proposed legislative bill is going to ban all dog, cat and rabbit sales in Pennsylvania pet stores. The bill called "Victoria's Law" was filed yesterday. Officials say the bill would restrict the sale of dogs, cats and rabbits at stores to help prevent pet mills from operating throughout the state. State Senators Lisa Boscola and Kirstin Phillips-Hill are sponsoring the bill as well as dozens of other co-sponsors from both the Republican and Democratic parties.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A 27-year-old socialist activist and law student is going to be running for Harrisburg City Council. Vishal Bajpai announced his bid to run for city council this past Tuesday. Bajpai says he is focusing his campaign on expanding tenant and worker protections, pursuing progressive public safety policies and making the budget process more transparent. While his official website is close to being finished, more information on his campaign is currently available on his Facebook page.

>>Dauphin County Man Arrested for DUI, Attempting To Flee Police

(Lower Paxton Township, PA) -- A Dauphin County man is being accused of hitting two marked police vehicles as he attempted to flee a DUI stop. Matthew Mihalov was charged yesterday with aggravated assault, DUI, fleeing and eluding. Lower Paxton Township police say they found Mihalov unresponsive in his car in the area of Oxford and Coventry roads while they were responding to a call about a vehicle driving recklessly. In an attempt to drive away from the scene, Mihalov hit two police vehicles. He is currently being held in the Dauphin County Prison on a $75-thousand bail.

(Reading, PA) -- Reading Parking Authority is offering some relief for residents in preparation for upcoming winter storms. The authority announced yesterday that downtown garages in the city will be available this weekend for free parking. Officials say anyone using the garage will have to pull a ticket to enter and must exit by eight-in-the-morning on Monday to avoid having to pay. Five-to-nine inches of snow is expected to fall in Berks County beginning today.

(Reading, PA) -- Government buildings in Berks County are going to be closed today due to the winter weather. President Judge Thomas Parisi announced yesterday that all county buildings will be closed today for employees who are not involved in 24-seven operations. While the commissioner's meeting has been canceled, the virtual retirement board meeting is still expected to go on this morning at 9:30 a.m. Officials say they will be monitoring the snowstorm to see how it will affect operations for tomorrow.

>>Kutztown Man Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison For Child Pornography

(Kutztown, PA) -- A Kutztown man is going to be spending about two decades behind bars on child pornography charges. Joseph Krasley was sentenced to 20 years in prison yesterday by a U.S. District Court judge. Prosecutors say Krasley was originally convicted in 2019 on 14 counts of child exploitation offenses after he was investigated for sharing images of children being sexually abused with other sex offenders. Along with his prison sentence, he will also serve ten years of supervised release and has been ordered to pay about 30-thousand-dollars in restitution.

(Reading, PA) -- Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that heavily damaged an apartment building in Reading. The fire happened yesterday morning at an apartment building in the 900-block of North Fifth Street. No injuries have been reported yet, but officials say two apartments that were vacant are now uninhabitable.

(Paradise Township, PA) -- Police are investigating the cause of an accident in Lancaster County that killed one person. The crash happened yesterday afternoon at the intersection of South Belmont Street and Georgetown Road in Paradise Township. Police say a tractor-trailer collided with a pickup truck. The Lancaster County Coroner confirmed that one person was pronounced dead at the scene, but no other injuries have been reported.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is issuing Tier One road restrictions and reduced speeds for several major roadways today due to the winter storm. This order went into effect at 1 a.m. today for Interstate-70 from the Maryland border to the Pennsylvania turnpike, Pennsylvania Turnpike Interstate-76 and more. Starting at 4 a.m. today, the restrictions will go into effect for route 22 from Interstate-78 to the New Jersey border, Route 33, Interstate-81 and more. >>Human Remains From Susquehanna River Identified

(Nanticoke, PA) -- The District Attorney's office is identifying the human remains found along the Susquehanna River by Newport Township back in December. Officials say DNA results show that the remains belonged to homicide suspect Richard Walski, who was missing since August after police found his wife's body at their Larksville home. She was found with a gunshot wound to the head, and police say Walksi was clearing bank accounts and selling items before disappearing. Investigators are still working to further confirm the identity of the remains and cause of death.
