Harry Styles has no regrets about defending his Vogue cover against Candace Owens.
The “Adore You” singer is “extremely proud” with the way he handled his back-and-forth with the conservative commentator, who caused an uproar amongst Stylers after bashing the singer for wearing a dress on his historical cover feature on the fashion magazine.
“Harry’s very pleased with how it all came out,” an insider told Us Weekly. “He’s extremely proud of that Vogue shoot and has vowed to be himself and keep sharing his outlook on life for as long as he can.”
ICYMI: Owens made headlines for seemingly shaming the musician, who she accused of promoting “the steady feminization” of the male image.
“There is no society that can survive without strong men," she tweeted at the time. "The East knows this. In the west, the steady feminization of our men at the same time that Marxism is being taught to our children is not a coincidence. It is an outright attack. Bring back manly men.”
Weeks after Stylers thrashed Owens’ on Twitter for her comments, the “Golden” superstar eventually responded with a classy (and sassy) clap-back. "Bring back manly men," the 26-year-old wrote — mocking Owens’ own words — with an image of him dressed in a light blue outfit, eating a banana.
Styles' head-turning fashion choices are nothing new and he's been open about his gender-bending style statements in the past.
“What women wear. What men wear. For me it's not a question of that,” he told The Guardian in 2019. “If I see a nice shirt and get told, 'But it's for ladies.' I think: 'Okaaaay? Doesn't make me want to wear it less though,'' he said. "I think the moment you feel more comfortable with yourself, it all becomes a lot easier.”
