HARRISBURG, PA - The Governor's administration has picked a consortium of companies to manage construction on what might be 9 interstate bridges. Under the administration's current plan, the construction would be paid for by tolls. At this time the administration has not decided which bridges will be tolled. The I-83 South bridge is one of the 9 bridges under consideration.
PennDOT has said it's in the process of having public hearings and environmental reviews on the bridges.
The first set of bridges is expected to be under contract by December. After the design process, construction is expected to start between Fall of 2023 and Spring of 2024.
