PennDOT's New Automated Speed Enforcement is Coming!

Beware if you speed through work zones!

A new automated work zone enforcement program is coming to PA. It’ll use vehicle-mounted systems that’ll catch and record vehicles going faster than posted work zone speed limits 11 MPH over. The systems will use electronic speed timing devices. They’ll be in work zones where workers are present. A 60-Day pre-enforcement prior starts next week. But when the official enforcement period starts in 2020, drivers will get a warning letter for a first offense, and a violation notice and $75 fine for a second offense. A third offense will get you a $150 fine. They’ll be civil penalties so no points will be added to your driver’s license.
