With Memorial Day weekend approaching, Triple A is advising drivers to ensure their vehicles are ready for the road. A record-breaking 45 million Americans are expected to travel at least 50 miles from home, with 39.1 million opting to drive. Before hitting the road, Triple A recommends checking your car's battery, tire pressure, and fluid levels to avoid unexpected breakdowns. Last year, Triple A responded to over 350,000 emergency roadside calls, primarily for flat tires, dead batteries, and lockouts.

Stacey Barber, Vice President of Triple A Travel, emphasized the importance of vehicle preparedness, stating that despite higher fuel prices, many Americans are prioritizing leisure travel. Mark Jenkins, Public Relations Manager for Triple A, advised, "A simple pre-trip inspection of your tires, battery, brakes, and other essentials can prevent unexpected breakdowns."

For those renting cars, Thursday and Friday are expected to be the busiest pick-up days, with Orlando, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles among the top destinations. Triple A also reminds drivers to adhere to "Move Over" laws to protect roadside workers and stranded motorists.
