Adam Lambert  made a “legendary” announcement during his guest appearance on Good Morning America early Thursday morning in New York City’s Times Square.

The American Idol alum was joined by original Queen band members Brian May and Roger Taylor, and the long-time collaborators announced their 19-date North American tour this summer.

“Queen is one of the quintessential rock bands of all time,” praises Adam, who is also a guest star on FOX’s Glee and a mentor on Idol. “They’ve formed music that no one has ever heard before, they’ve influenced bands for years to come.”

“We feel like Adam is one of the few singers that actually can deliver our songs,” Roger explains, which Brian emphasizes, “The only singer that can deliver these songs.”

The “If I Had You” crooner first meshed with the famed rockstars in 2009 on Idol‘s Season 8 finale, where he provided the vocal chops for “We Are the Champions.” They joined forces again at the 2011 MTV European Music Awards and rocked three sold-out shows at London’s Hammersmith Apollo. Adam and Queen were also applauded for their powerhouse performance at the 2013 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas.

The long-awaited tour kicks off June 19, in Chicago, and they are scheduled to hit major cities including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Toronto, and New York. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 14 via Live Nation.
